Thurlow Nunn League
Whitton United 2
Stowmarket Town Reserves 8

Words from reserves manager Craig Brown

Tuesday night we travelled a few miles up the A14 to play Whitton United Res. We still had a few injuries and suspensions which was going to be another test for my young side.

We started the game brightly and took a deserved lead Frederico Dende placing the ball into a empty net after a sloppy clearance from the Whitton goal keeper on 12 minutes. On 15 minutes Liam knights made it 2 with a very tidy finish, wrong footing the goal keeper. We finish the half sloppy but managed to keep the lead at 2-0.

Second half we started much the same as the first.  Young central defender Harvey Talbot scored his second goal in 2 games making it 3.
Whitton got a goal back making it 3-1 then the impressive Ellis Smith got a quick fire hattrick, of the bench scoring in the 70,74 and 77 minute. Joel Simmons smashed in our 7th goal.

Whitton then replied with another goal before man of the match Smith got his fourth goal on the 85th minute to complete the scoring 8-2.

Plenty of goals in an impressive performance away from home we welcome Thetford Town Res next Tuesday at Greens Meadow when we look to add another 3 points to our league tally 👍🏻
