Stow go Barking mad with six goals in Essex

Storm Arwen bought wet and very windy conditions to Mayesbrook Park where Stowmarket were in the mood to create a perfect storm of their own. With the Suffolk side attacking at every opportunity, it was Bermuda International Reggie Lambe who got the early break through with a low strike into Barking net. In form Striker Luke Brown not to be outdone found space in the box collecting a well-placed pass to put the visitors 0-2 up at halftime.

The travelling fans sensing that there were more goals in this game weren’t going to disappointed as the other half of the Bermudian duo Willie Clemons sailed through the defence and expertly placed his shot into the home net. A well worked corner found Brown for his second of the afternoon. Darnell Goather-Braithwaite scored a consolation goal for Barking before Josh Mayhew who came on as sub immediately replied with a goal of his own, leaving Joe Jefford to complete the scoring for the impressive Stowmarket side.

The reserves were in action at Greens Meadow Saturday against Wivenhoe Town Res

Here is what reserves manager Craig Brown had to say
“Saturday we played Wivenhoe Town Res at Greens Meadow in tricky conditions. The squad of 16 having 11 under 18s players involved with 7 starting in the first 11. I handed a home debut to 16 year old goal keeper Isaac Read who played an excellent game in tricky conditions. We started the game very well & hit the woodwork twice in the opening 30 mins and missed some very good chances, we come in at half time 0-0.

We started on the front foot again in the second half but was starting to feel like one of those days until man of the match Liam knights tucked away inside the box very calm finish. After 70 mins then top goal scorer Jack Wharton-Richardson finished of the game with a cool finish past the goal keeper great reaction from a youthful team.

A very special moment seeing my son Reggie lead the team out today, we now turn our attention to Woodbridge away next Saturday”
