Stowmarket Town can confirm that Peter Mayhew and Wayne Middlemas have left their roles in charge of the club’s under-18s.

Manager Mayhew, and his assistant Middlemas, have helped progress Stow’s Thurlow Nunn Youth League side over the last three years, with results and performances improving each year.

The pair have also helped develop several young players who have gone on to play for the club’s first team and reserves, including Alex Clarke, Aiden Phair, Ben Gutteridge and Ben Skipper.

After finishing eighth in the Central table in 2018-19, Stow were sitting in fourth place when the 2019-20 season was cut short, and were also in the quarter-finals of the Suffolk FA Under-18s Midweek Cup.

The under-18s only managed six fixtures in the curtailed 2020-21 season, the last of those in October, before the national lockdown brought the campaign to a halt.

The club would like to thank Peter and Wayne for their hard work and efforts and wish them both all the best for the future.
