Stowmarket Town youth chairman Kevin Blundell rounds up the weekend’s action…

The weekend of December 12-13 saw the last few games for our youth sides before the Christmas break, again the weather was not kind and some of our pitches have suffered badly.  We are also still working towards the restart of our Saturday club once COVID allows, so keep an eye out early next year for our really young players returning to grassroots football.

Some of our sides this weekend had really close games and as always performed at their best.  We have also had a mixed bag of results across the whole of the youth section, with a few wins, losses and a draw thrown in.  A few of our sides have started the Christmas break early; but are already itching to get back to grassroots football as soon as possible.

Our Under 15s EJA side were back in action again this weekend against local rivals Needham Market, but due to the pitch at Cedars Community Centre having been cut early in the week after some heavy rain the pitch will probably be unplayable for at least a month.  Just like last week the main club stepped in and offered up the use of the first team pitch so that the game could still go ahead.
