Stowmarket Town Reserves climbed up to fourth in the Thurlow Nunn Reserve League after beating Cornard United Reserves 3-1 at Greens Meadow.

It was a welcome return to winning ways for Craig Brown’s side, who went into the weekend having picked up one point from their last three games.

But Stow put recent results behind them as goals from James Graham, his sixth of the season, Danny Lines and Ehran Steele-Smart wrapped up all three points.

The win pushes Stow up to fourth in a tightly-contested table, with the top six sides currently separated by just two points.

Stow continue their run of home games by hosting Framlingham Town Reserves at Greens Meadow on Saturday (3pm).

Elsewhere at the weekend, Stowmarket Town A‘s run of defeats in League C of the Macron Suffolk & Ipswich League continued, losing 5-1 at home to Framlingham Town A.

Andrew Fox was on target for Stow, but goals from Ross Waddell (two), Edward Goddard (two) and Alec Mackay ensured it was the visitors who prevailed at the Cedars Park Community Centre.

Stowmarket Town Under-18s remain bottom of the Thurlow Nunn Youth League Central table after losing 11-1 at Needham Market Under-18s on Thursday.
