Stowmarket Town Reserves slipped to back-to-back defeats after losing 4-1 to Whitton United Reserves at Greens Meadow.

Stow were looking to bounce back from losing their unbeaten record in 2020-21 last time out, a 2-1 reverse at Long Melford Reserves a fortnight ago.

But Craig Brown’s men were handed back-to-back defeats in the Thurlow Nunn Reserve League, as goals from Chase Holland (two), Ashley Blow and Jonathan Linard wrapped up all the points for Whitton.

Aiden Phair got on the scoresheet for the second consecutive game for Stow, but it was in a losing effort as the 2018-19 Reserve League champions slipped to seventh in the table.

Next up for Stow is a trip to Thetford Town Reserves next Saturday (3pm).
