Stowmarket Town Reserves finished on the wrong end of a nine-goal thriller after losing 5-4 to Framlingham Town Reserves on Saturday.

Craig Parker, Luke Bates, Jack Hale and James Graham were all on target for Stow, who trailed 4-1 to their visitors at Greens Meadow.

A brace from Max Willett, along with goals from Ethan Whittingstall, Sam Whitelock and Oliver Smith, secured all the points for Fram.

The defeat sees Stow drop to sixth in the Thurlow Nunn Reserve League table. With the country set to enter a second lockdown on Thursday, it is likely that Craig Brown’s men will not return to action until December at the earliest.

Elsewhere at the weekend, Stowmarket Town A lost 4-0 away at Saxmundham Sports Reserves in League C of the Macron Suffolk & Ipswich League.

Stowmarket Town Under-18s’ scheduled home clash with Whitton United Under-18s in the Thurlow Nunn Youth League Central on Thursday was postponed.
