Reserves Face Trip To Joint Leaders
Stowmarket Town Reserves are back on the road as they head to joint-leaders Long Melford Reserves this weekend.
Stow climbed to the top of the Thurlow Nunn Reserve League after beating Thetford Town Reserves 6-2 at Greens Meadow last Saturday.
And Craig Brown’s men take on another side that have started the new season with two wins and a draw, when they visit Long Melford tomorrow (3pm).
“We’ve made a good start and we want to keep it going,” Stow manager Brown said.
“It looks like Long Melford have improved since the last time we played them, so we will need to be on our game.
“I’d also like to wish Ben Skipper all the best for the future, as he has decided to leave us to get more game time.
“He has been with me right from the start and is a good lad. I’ll always welcome him back, but at the moment the competition for places is strong.”
There is a full programme of fixtures scheduled in the Reserve League this weekend, with second-placed Walsham-le-Willows Reserves, the other of the three sides on seven points, away to Wivenhoe Town Reserves.
Framlingham Town Reserves, the only side still with a 100 per cent record, visit Thetford, while the other two unbeaten sides Hadleigh United Reserves and Woodbridge Town Reserves face off.
