Stowmarket Town are delighted to announce the return of midfielder George Quantrell to the club.
The teenager burst onto the scene at Greens Meadow back in February 2019, scoring a late winner in Stow’s Suffolk Premier Cup quarter-final against Brantham Athletic in his second appearance.
After a string of impressive performances, Quantrell left Stow to return to his former club Dereham in February of this year, but is now back at Stow for a second spell.
“We’re really happy to have George back with us,” Stow assistant manager Paul Musgrove said.
“I don’t think he should have left us in February. He’s coming back to a place where he feels comfortable and he can enjoy his football.
“George is a young lad who is still learning the game and needs to be patient. We know the quality that he has and I’m sure we can help bring the best out of him.
“It will be nice to have him back in the group and also see his mum and dad again, who are big supporters of him.”
The club would like to thank Dereham for their assistance with the transfer. Quantrell will go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s home game against Stanway Rovers.
