Stowmarket Town Football Club would like to welcome Ben Hunter to the club on a loan deal until the end of the season from Leiston FC.

The club would like to thank Leiston FC for the help on the deal.

Words from the manager Paul Musgrove
“Ben is a young talented midfield player who will provide quality and energy in all areas of the pitch. Ben should settle in quickly as he knows a lot of the lads. He’s got a great character and willingness to just want to play football”

Muzzy was looking to bolster his options in this area after the departure of Erkan Okay and injuries to Jack Ainsley, Dom Doherty and Craig Parker. These players are all at slightly different stages of their return to play, Because of the nature of the injuries the management team feel timing will be key to prevent reoccurring injuries. Our physio and S&C coach have done a brilliant job to get these boys back to this point. The boys willingness to take the information on and work on things away from football has been spot on. Credit to them all.

Muzzy, said of Erkan firstly he is a great lad and I want to thank him for his time and input while he was with us. Erkan has had a great career and I have nothing but respect for him. You can see by the reaction on Twitter the respect he has. I think it’s important for me to acknowledge on Erkan behalf that I got the signing wrong. With injuries we had at the time and still have, I required experience which Erkan has in abundance but I was asking Erkan to do things that weren’t his game anymore which is unfair. With his sending off in the first game and then he had COVID I think it’s important just to recognise my mistakes as a manager.

We wish him all the very best and I’m sure he will be back in football very soon.
