New Facilities At The Club
Stowmarket Community Sports & Social Club recently showed off its new facilities in a visit from Buildbase and other special guests.
Despite 2020 providing plenty of challenges due to Covid-19, it has still been a busy year at the club, with plenty of improvements made.
This month marks the one-year anniversary since our FA grading infrastructure director John Griffin, and former Stowmarket Town first-team Rick Andrews, went to Wembley to represent the club in the Buildbase £100k Transfer Deal Pitch Day.
In January, Stowmarket Town were awarded £25,000 worth of building materials to improve our facilities and earlier this month visitors from Buildbase head office, along with Jo Churchill MP and Richard Neal, the chief executive of Suffolk FA, were shown around the new facilities at the club.
Work started in the summer to improve the whole of Greens Meadow and to meet our objective of BUILD TO INVEST TO GROW.
Firstly, the new Buildbase matchday entrance was completed. This was swiftly followed by a refurbished bar, community hall, a new community room and kitchen along with the fantastic new large community outside area!
All of these facilities can now be hired out by the general public, which will help the club to reinvest to improve the sporting facilities for the town.
When you next visit the club you will also see new entrance ramp at the front and larger steps at the back to improve our disabled access. Both were completed through the bursary and thanks to the generous town council grants.
