Lockdown Puts Season On Hold
Stowmarket Town’s 2020-21 season has been halted as the country enters a second lockdown today.
The Old Gold and Blacks were last in action a fortnight ago, drawing 2-2 away at Mildenhall Town on October 24, before their next three Premier Division fixtures were postponed due to Covid-19 concerns.
Following the government’s announcement over the weekend that the country would be going into lockdown on Thursday this week (today), the Football Association has confirmed that all levels of non-elite football training and matches will also be suspended during the lockdown period.
As a result, Stow’s home league fixtures against Swaffham Town (November 7), Ely City (November 17) and FC Clacton (November 21), away league fixtures at Gorleston (November 14) and Stanway Rovers (December 1) and the Buildbase FA Vase second round home tie with Eynesbury Rovers (November 28) will all be rearranged.
Stow’s next scheduled fixture is set to be away at Haverhill Rovers on Saturday, December 5. Please follow our social media platforms and the website for any updates on when fixtures will resume.
