Stowmarket Town can confirm the departure of defender Seb Dunbar at the end of this season.

The left back arrived at Greens Meadow in the early weeks of the 2019-20 season from Suffolk rivals Leiston, and immediately became a popular player with Stow fans.

Dunbar scored four goals in 45 appearances from defence during the last two disrupted seasons, with his last strike coming in the 5-0 win over Eynesbury Rovers in the Buildbase FA Vase last December.

Dunbar posted on Twitter: “First of all, thanks to everyone at Stow, especially the fans for such unbelievable support.

“I joined to try and get the club through the leagues, but due to COVID it wasn’t meant to be.

“I’ve loved every minute and I’m proud to say I haven’t lost a league game in a Stow shirt. So much love for all the boys there, everyone has been an absolute pleasure to play with.

“I wish you all the very best going forward and I’m sure in the near future you will be promoted and where you deserve to be, as it’s such a great club.

“I feel the time is right for another challenge and who knows where it will be.”

Stow manager Paul Musgrove added: “I would like to say thank you Seb for all that he has contributed since he arrived. A top person and outstanding player.

“Our loss will be another team’s and higher league’s immense gain. We wish him nothing but success in the future.”

The club would like to thank Seb for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future.
