Stowmarket Town have been drawn away to Cambridge City in the first qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The Old Gold and Blacks knocked out higher-league Yaxley 2-1 in the preliminary round at the weekend, to advance to this stage of the FA Cup for the first time in 19 years.

And Stow will pit their wits against another Step 4 opposition after being handed a trip to Isthmian League North Division outfit Cambridge City in the next round.

The match will take place at The Glassworld Stadium, the home of Histon, on a date between Monday, September 21 and Thursday, September 24.

This will be the second meeting between the two clubs this season, after Cambridge’s Under-18s defeated Stow’s Under-18s on penalties in the FA Youth Cup earlier this month.
