Stowmarket Town Reserves manager Craig Brown is excited with the potential of his youth-inspired squad next season.

The reserves recently had two post-season friendlies away at Stanton (1-0) and Cornard United Reserves (2-2), and Brown’s squad included several new faces.

Tarek Elomri, Dan Knight and the returning Jack Hale found the target in the friendlies, while youngsters Ryan Capon, Tommy Allen, Ellis Smith, Sam Blewitt, Elliot Hart, and Jack and Will Wharton-Richardson have all impressed in their first appearances.

“We’ve got lots of young players coming to training every week, and they’ve been getting a lot of minutes in the recent friendlies we had,” Brown said.

“We’re looking forward to the new season. We’re training every Tuesday at Cedars Park, and there’s been good numbers.

“We’re still the holders of the league, but I don’t know how! We want to defend the title and push the youth through.

“They are the future of the club and we want to bring them through and into the first team.”
