Stowmarket Town can confirm the departure of assistant manager Dale Brooks.

The experienced coach joined the club in the summer of 2019, taking up the role of technical director of football with the first team.

Brooks played a key role in a successful two years at the club, including the unbeaten Premier Division campaign in 2019-20 and the Thurlow Nunn League record run of 39 games without defeat.

Following manager Rick Andrews’ exit in late 2020, Brooks stepped up as assistant manager to new boss Paul Musgrove, and the duo enjoyed two victories in the Buildbase FA Vase before football was suspended again.

“Dale has been outstanding for the club and for me personally too,” Musgrove said.

“We reacquainted ourselves after he taught me as a schoolboy at Ipswich Town, and I’ve learnt a great deal from his wisdom and professionalism.

“I want to say a massive thank you to him for the last two years. It was one of those things where we couldn’t agree terms, but Stowmarket wishes him nothing but the best.”

The club would like to thank Dale for all of his efforts during the last two years and wishes him all the best for the future.
